2017 Fashion Friday – If First you Don’t Succeed to Now Rightfully the Style Queen!

Today is the day I would like to send HUGE congratulations to Brittney Tamou and Kerry McGlone on their knock out outfit that has just taken out the Townsville Fashions on the Field.

I have always said when it comes to Fashions on the Field, your fate lies in the hands of the judges on the day. Once you get to that “Top 10” you know you have nailed it – then it comes down to purely the judges’ choice.

On the Championships Day 2 at Royal Randwick Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day, Brittney walked onto Randwick Race Course to the sounds of “oohs and ahhhhs”.  The camera loved her, she was my absolute “STAND OUT” on the day yet when it came to the judges, their choice was far from the tradition of stunning classic race wear.

You sit back and wonder what did I miss!  There must have been an announcement that I never saw that race wear was changing the way it wanted girls to dress for the races.  While I never want to take away from the winner which was gorgeous, I did sit back and think hmmmm you really have a different take on what I think race wear should be.  But then I had to eat my own thoughts as I have always said, it is purely the judges on the day on what they like.  Hence why it is always good to have different judges on various race days.  For me I am a traditionalist. Give me class, glamour and … I am definitely one for “hem lines down, necklines up” sort of gal.

So when I got the call “we won”!!!!  I was of course so excited for Brittney and Kerry but I was also relieved that I was right in my original stance on what was definitely a “knock out” look.

Townville Turf Club is known for where the elite of fashions on the field contenders ascend to.  If you look at their website – it oozes glamour, style, colour and the “best of the best” race wear.  So when Kerry said we are going to Townsville to wear your favourite outfit, I was elated.  This outfit just had to be worn again and get its rightful accolades.

Not only did Brittney WIN Fashions on the Field she is now the Face of  Winter Racing 2018 and will take over the “Crown” from Madeline Cowe for the 2018 racing season appearing in all their marketing and media materials.  Brittney also represents Townsville at the nationally recognised Mackay Beach Races’ fashions on the field competition and if she wins, is given direct entry to the Melbourne Cup Fashions on the Field competition.  Brittney will also be the first official social media star for the Townsville Turf Club as their fashion leader in Townsville.

WELL!!!!  What can I say … but again, a huge congratulations for being rightfully acknowledged in an outfit that oozing with style and grace.
