After a fabulous time in Melbourne for the AAMI Victoria Derby, it was time to come home and head straight to Gosford.
This year, for the first time, The Entertainment Grounds hosted a Melbourne Cup Race Day and it was incredibly successful. Well done to Hannah Klomp who is their marketing manager (the Entertainment Grounds’ secret weapon) . The whole of the track including the marquees, looks like one beautiful big party, full of flowers and even horse ornaments.
The Directors were overwhelmed with the numbers that showed and it certainly proved that their idea on holding a non TAB race day, was SPOT ON. The whole day was so carefully planned. Not once did I have to line up for longer than 5 minutes to get a drink or put on a bet. These are key points to make the day a stand out – plenty of staff, beautiful decor, friends and meeting new friends. The Entertainment Grounds definitely had the formula for a winning day.
Fashions on the Field proved to be another part of the day that was a hit with the crowd. The prize value was over $7,000 on the day. All sponsors should be praised on coming together and promoting such a great day for their local community. Special mentions to:
Lend Lease Erina Fair (major sponsors on the event),
the Australian Turf Club, Kathleen’s Mobile Millinery,
Quinn Fine Jewellery, Emirates Airline, Gazman, Milk & Honey Hair & Beauty,
The Coast Bar & Restaurant, De Bortoli, Zac & Tallulah,
Octopus Gardens, The Entertainment Grounds and
Thoroughbred Events Australia.
Congratulations again to The Entertainment Grounds for a wonderful Melbourne Cup Day at the Central Coast.
